Slowly Bringing Easter in

I can't believe, in less than 36 hours.... our last Holiday in this house as a "Family" will be.
I have had years of wonderful celebrations... beautiful events...outrageous parties.... divine soiree's
But I suppose at one point some things must come to an end.  I didn't realize how my mood actually got reflected in the above photo until after I put it up.
BLACK.
And I am angry.
I love Easter...
Being from a family right off the boat of Hungarian's and Pole's.... Easter is a REALLY big deal....
from slaving making the pierogies, the babka... the pysanky eggs and all the other goodies...
But this year and last has had a bad damper put on it.  It makes me sad, that I let another human control my feelings, my passion, my love and my culture. More so..taking that spirit out of me...effects me passing it onto my children.
But fear not my fav gypsea's.... I didn't become a pure blood Gypsy for a man to bring me down!
So....yes... today's Pink Saturday post for Beverly's may be a bit of a downer....
Do you really think I am going to let this buzz killer get away with ruining one more minute...or even HOLIDAY????
So for today..enjoy my vignettes...of perhaps serene..
Then Sunday...
Bring out the Caravan...
The Wild colors...
The food..
The Music..
And my children.
And the inner gypsea in you....
Until then...
Enjoy these.
I guess it was
Once Upon a Time.
(now for him only)

This isn't as dark...
But had to be posted for 2 special reasons.
#1. Babcia's farm and her brown eggs.  God bless her.
#2. Real Pirates eat brown eggs.

  4. Cricket,

Everything is so beautiful...even the black egg! And from your southern sister in blogland...let me tell you, DO NOT EVER let anyone stomp on your traditions, passions...your being. I lived it way too long before I left it all behind me. I have a loving soul in my life now and my spirit has healed but it was so unnecessary for me to be subjected to such treatment...{and for you too}.

So there you have my wise words for the week! Sweet Cricket, take care of yourself!

    Pink Sparkles for your day,
    Stephanie ♥

  6. The black egg is stunning - but I'm sorry for what it represents. I know what it feels like to have the joy of life sucked right out of you and I too have learned not to allow those persons in my life for more than a moment. I too wish you better days ahead. Happy Pink Saturday to you...

  11. Hi there Cricket,

My first thought when I saw the black egg with butterflies was "How fabulous!" Then I read your post. I'm thinking now...The white butterflies on that egg speak volumes of a metamorphosis into the light! The power is yours to step out into a new beginning. From one gypsy to another, don't let another quench your thirst for happiness. Take care, and thanks for visiting today!
    Have a blessed Easter!

  13. I am so sorry about your pain, I know it, have been there. You will come to a place where you will be able to forgive, then you will stop being a victim to the pain, and then you will be able to move on and grow again.
I love the eggs, beautiful pictures.
I did not post a PS post this week, a home improvement project instead.
May God Bless you this Easter in a very special way.
    Hugs
    Gail
