A Small Treasure Hunt

Well I am back in NJ, seeing the spinal surgeon, getting cleared to go back on 

'The Ward" this weekend.

Ugh 14-16 hour shifts, Friday~Sat~Sun.

So, this mermaid decided she was well deserved to a trip to her fav stomping grounds...

In search of what I can NEVER find in Florida,

GLASS!

I also needed the downtime...

The smell of the sea I grew up with

To think about my future

My dad

Me.

So off I went playing hooky with my mini mermaid and pirate.

Usually I have great luck at 'my spot,'

But today just didn't look to hot.

On top of it, Miss Mini....is not as much of a true beach hunter like the Mini P and me.

So we started cruising along.

I knew I missed the big spell of gathering all my Welch's,

But I did get a little lucky at one point.

I found a few more, but one of the things I found a lot of is this....

There was tons more...but my camera battery died right at the end of our hunt...

So you'll have to wait till I get it all together to show you the HUGE batch!

But still...what was my main goal?

GLASS!

Still, zero..nothing..

Then I got a little zing.

This was the first one I found....

then,

Oh..what a gorgeous color in person!

And as we started to head back....

(i really was starting to lose hope, plus I had to pee!)

I stumbled upon...

This was actually about 3 1/2-4" in length and real thick!

I found a few other white and amber colored ones in the next few minutes.

Then low and behold...

The biggest piece in this color I ever found as we were about to head out...

YES!

SCORE!!!!

And I will not lie..

I was jumping around worse than my kids would...

(luckily, I did not pee!)

So my day might have been a little short...

Ending up sweet.

Just spending time with the kids...

Kinda made some, above picture not included, BLUES go away.

Like they say...

There ain't nothing that the sun, sea, salt water and sand can't heal..

Right?

Flowers for Moi

Hey there all... 

a very simple post today for Good Life Wednesday's,  Cottage Flora Thursday's and Outdoor Wednesday
But I thought I would share with you

a simple gesture.That would warm any mothers heart.

Now you know my mini pirate here...

Well, the other week on one of our many 

excursions we pass this little road stand.

Everytime we pass it, we mean to stop but never do.

And this day.. Mama Mermaid was not feeling too hot

So Maxi boy asks if we could stop.

So of course I do.

He has a five dollar bill in his hand he never used to get his bunker fish, so out the door he goes.

All these Snapple jars filled with fresh cut flowers from across the street in the owners field!

And the pirate ponders...

Until he decides which one would be perfect.

I have to admit...

As simple as they were, 

they were just so so sweet and lively!

so he found his bunch.

Now...

the funny part is,

He gives the young man his precious 5 dollar bill

Collects his change,

Then turns to me and says

"Here Mom, don't worry, I'll always be here to buy you flowers."

(yes, as I write this I have tears....again!)

So big hugs are in order!

And then off we go.

Until 4 minutes into the ride I hear a yelp!

And I am like Dear God.. what happened!

I practically killed us both!

And Maxi is like...

"Mom...Mom... how much were those flowers???"

I tell him only $1.00.

and he says...

"Well how come he gave me back 6 ones?"

Gotta love it!

Apothecary Love.....a DIY

It's true... I am in pure mad deep love...don't be jealous, he isn't that tall..or dark and handsome....He is a tad old....well preferably REALLY old!  He doesn't have a lot of money, but sure can be.....He's quiet and serene...yet bold and demanding.  Demanding of my attention that is.  To pamper and protect...Shield him from small children with balls and kitty's playing mouse....
See, I told you not be jealous... I mean who wants to have a bunch of these all over?

I knew you wouldn't want them!  So I saved them all for me

But since my man (men) doesn't have much money, it was time for me to improvise....

Ummmm....nurses are pretty good at coming up with unique ways to bandage up, stop leaks, insert uh um..needles  items (?) well... we can get a little crafty too when it comes to dressing something up

and we aren't talking 4x4's and cling either!

So in gypsea mode I found some vintage labels to download

And since I wasn't quite sure how this was going to turn out...I wasn't about to ruffle any feathers on oneof my old men, so I found some pseudo wanna be's at IKEA. And came up with this...

So...how do you like my men now? Are you in pure love?  It's ok, I'll let you be jealous for a minute...
