Mermaid Shopping



Awhile back I did a post on one of my most fabulous, favorite stores

in Pass-a-Grille...

and I mentioned that the owner had opened up a sister store

in St. Pete's Beach called "Tropicals"

Well...

you never saw a happier mermaid,

mermaid shopping when I entered this funky

gypsea lovin boutique!

MERMAIDS EVERYWHERE!!

See that beauty above..?

She is hand carved out of a delicate wood...

and her sister is right here...

Yes..for a mere $575.

You can have one or the other...

then as my eyes start to wander...

Another beauty..

I think my head started to hurt..

my brain was spinning...

my heart palpating...

I mean.. I wanted every single one!

But I had to pull the reins in.

It would have been pointless to drag these beauties

out of theie element...all the way to NJ..

Just to eventually bring them back down when I move.

But oh...how badly I wanted just a little something...

I was a good girl I must say.

That doesn't mean I am going to stay that way though!

I am hit with rain this am.

So maybe I will be able to find a

"little" mermaid something or another while I am out and about..

I will let you know!

Pink Pill Saturday

Happy PINK SATURDAY gypsea gals...

Well maybe not so happy for me right now....

As I sit here...

And think about my luck...

I should be REALLY happy since I get on that big jet plane this weekend..

but as luck would have it...

I am swallowing these big  PINK pills instead.

(no worries... not even a touch a pneumonia can keep this gypsea down.

I'm still boarding!)

So I think I will just sit back and rest and read all your pretty

Leaving the Snow Behind

I don't know  about you folks up in the Northeast...

But I know I had just about enough of this cold,

slushy, snow, yucky days....

Absolutely no fun when you want to go play 

on the beach...

I mean... this is all nice to look at

'once in awhile'

But not for this gypsea girl....

She is heading back to her mermaid spot in 

Florida in just a few days!!!

Yippeee!

Now this will be more my speed...

And this is exactly how you will find me..

(in between house hunting, job hunting etc....)

Ya know..

that down time!

Paradise on a Budget

While driving down Gulf Blvd. taking in the scenery of Sunset Beach and Treasure Island, we pass this sign.

I know, you say..'Yeh, big deal.. just an apt for rent sign...' Well,  I kinda was thinking the same thing until we parked across the street to enter the beach and then I turned back.

Well... you know what my thought was..

"Hold on..let me just grab my purse

(and my camera...)

You never know what treats you could find!

Of course I was given the usual...

Oh..all right.....go ahead...

So little me wanders up to this most mouth watering,

vintage junkies dream stop.

A fun chick on a pink Vespa sits sipping a beer...

Another girl...chatting away with a gentleman

who you knew..

you could just tell..

By looking...

Man...he had some stories to tell!

Perhaps that jus might be my usual psych-analytical self nurse

playing..

But...I don't think so!

So I ask.. Is this really a shop?

The man answers...or kinda chuckles..

You could call it that..

But really..

these are apartments for rent!

I am in awe...

Looking around...it would appear to be the most fascinating gathering

places of vintage yummness!!

Come look for yourself...

Yes, these are actually apartments...

And there is the proud owner himself on the left..

Mr.Volpe.

His family has owned one of the most priceless pieces of properties 

in the Sunset Beach/Treasure Island area since 1971...long with other real estate as well.

Talking to him was a hoot...most especially when I saw this sign...

I believe he told me it was from Indiana..along with the firetruck that sits to the left of the 

building.. I figured it may have been one of the trucks that put out a fire the 

patients here may have started..( jk!)

He told me..

Come back..have a beer and stay for awhile...

I'll tell you all about it...

So watch out..

I am heading back out this weekend....

Messages in a bottle...

While trapped away in her little hideaway...
Waiting for the pirate to sail in....
The gypsea mermaid laid all her thoughts and placed
them in a bottle...

She adorned her bottle with her precious sea glass and such...

And decided to wait just a little longer before sending it to sea...

So she laid it upon her many shells...

And there it sat...

She looked around at her other old bottles from the sea...

And contemplated scribbling down more wishes and dreams...

But alas the sun was starting to set....

and the mermaid was close to exhaustion....

So she gave the pirate another day to appear...

Wind and Sea Sunday

Today was not... a good day for combing...

the sand was literally whipping across the shores..

burying not only shells and wood, but us too...

So we headed south to hit another favorite stomping ground...

This is where I will collect all my pure white or pink pebbles..

and if lucky...extremely tumbled sea glass...

But the wind was still kickin here too!

We could barely stay for more than a half an hour...

But what would be a day without finding another

mystery mermaids belongings.

Pink Damsel Saturday

This gypsea mermaid feels like a damsel in distress...
She is tired, worn out, anxious, excited yet sad....
Feeling like a prisoner trapped inside herself.


But someone once told me..
"Young grasshopper, you have so much to learn.."
So I pulled out that whimsical imagination of mine
and figured..if I am going to feel this way, it better be
(at least in my head!)
A damn good place to be trapped!


So as my fish tail swung in anguish and I tried to soothe 
my ever racing mind..
I envisioned...

being held captive up here....

Constantly peering out...waiting for my lost pirate to appear...

but as far out as my view could take me to the sea..

There is nothing.

Another day in Pass-a-Grille

I have been bad.. very bad..I have been flitting around Florida not posting..not paying any mind to my blog, Etsy, the work I should be getting done..and ask me why? Well, simple... I found my paradise.. through this painstaking marriage/divorce..surgeries, fright, not being able to work due to my injuries... and my paradise..keeps coming back to good ole Pass-a-grille.  Today was a rainy day, (of course.. I wanted to do some beachcombing..)  Got a few pics and shells in..but, well.. the rain.. what is a girl to do?
GO SHOP!!  Oh and what a piece of paradise Bamboozle is!  Here come look at my mermaid heaven!!

The owner was there..and told me about her 2nd store!! yes.. can you believe it?

Hearts, Snow, Sun and Pink on My Mind

Girls..I won't even try to lie....

I am whooped! 

OWOH has had me spinning in circles..

Then I blew some of the sutures of the middle layer in my back out...

My youngest pirate is a vomiting one!

And this snow???

This cold?

YUCK!!

I have had enough!

It seems I have a constant bbbbrrrr going through my bones..

Ya know that feeling?

So, I took it upon my sweet little self...

While sitting at the local Starbucks 

(yes.. I needed a moment of peace!)

But to boot..

Look at what I ordered during a freakin sleet storm!

Yeh.. a little nutty..

But it's all good..

And as I doodled with fingers...

I said...

Girl, 

You can do way better than this!

So on my handy dandy iPhone...

I decided that I needed to be at a Starbucks where I can have this...

You got it...

This gypsea is back off to Florida this week!

WooHoo!!

No worries though... I will send some sunshine and love

back to the Northeast for you!
